The yellow color on that siliceous mudstone looks phenomenal. I always enjoy finding yellow/brown specimens when rockhounding. Another feature that I enjoy about the siliceous mudstone is that it has a smooth and silky surface. Natures polish is always the best! Also, I have a question about the siliceous mudstone, how fragile is it? Does it easily break if not handled carefully? 0:26

Hello, thanks for the comment. The stone at 0:26 is very hard. Hard as other ordinary stones. I don't really know about other river stone but when I find Siliceous mudstone, it is always it is hard as ordinary stones, pretty hard to break with hammer too. I feel that mohs hardness can be around 7.
